The Off-Road Adventure 'Gubakha - The City Of
Contrasts'
|
|
On 16-18 June there was a very contrast trip to
Gubakha. It was a car climb on the mountain 'Krestovaya', a visit
to the cave 'Rossiiskaya', an easy amateur trial with an overturn,
impassable marshland etc. In this expedition 16 car crews took
part! (Wow!!!)
Sunny weather, dusty roads, mosquitoes and midges, forest tracks,
gullies and marshes - all this combined not only did not prevent
the participants of the off-road adventurous expedition 'Gubakha
- the city of contrasts' from taking the route, but on the contrary
warmed the interest and desire to go further and further to meet
those fine exciting things which awaited us.
The first part of the route (the dustiest part) was so easy for
some of our participants, that we had to make a little departure
from the main route and a little bit one might say 'get thrilled'
in the thickets of our impassable forests. Having explored the
way 'Green Kozyavka' came back, attracted and led the most part
of adventure seekers. After it was settled to meet in a special
place the group divided. The one part left for the forest and
the other having reached the place on the road stopped to wait
for the rest.
The scene was very peaceful and quiet. Somebody was fixing the
car, somebody was just resting and the most experienced participants
made up their minds to organize a mini trophy-trial. On the program
there was a ride through the mound and through a small marsh by
the road. To everyone's delight Fyodor Gataullin showed a master-class
in the open. He demonstrated several off-road exercises, for instance
pulling the car out of the marsh with the winch and careful placing
the car on its side and then lifting it.
Meanwhile the group which had started the trip on the off-road
was coping with the track pulling the cars out through three gullies.
To sum it up only one winch was broken, which is considered to
be quite a fine result.
Driving farther to subjugate the vast expanses of the Perm Territory
the group of courageous drivers got to the settlement Nagornskiy
without any unpleasant surprises, then they reached the car road
Kungur-Bereznyiky. The track was passable, but in this part of
the route it was much worse and narrower than in the beginning
from the side of the settlement Vilva. To be quite honest there
was less dust. One of the very memorable roads was a concrete-surfaced
one. And another beautiful view which really impressed us all
was the view of great amounts of butterflies sitting on the pools
on the roads.
Having reached the town of Gubakha the participants of the expedition
climbed the mountain Krestovaya where from the very top they could
watch and enjoy the magnificent sights. Then they took a picture
to remember the place by and left.
Before the evening stop there was a short car trip through the
gully Ladeynyi, then a visit to the cave 'Rossiiskaya' on the
old deserted tracks. As the weather was surprisingly hot and perfect
for swimming that day of course there was a drive to the river
Kosva.
On the bank of the river after both teams met (you remember some
brave jeepers had detached from the main column before arriving
at Nagornskiy wishing to have extra off-road driving) all the
guys talked far into the night sharing emotions, thoughts and
delight.
In the morning the most persistent adventure seekers had a go
to the cave while the rest slept after the exhausting trip. The
cave is certainly unique and there is a lot worth seeing: that
is a lake which is two metres deep; a large grotto (they say it
is size of a five-storied building); fantastic stones looking
like sparkling ice and…..
You realize it is just impossible to retell or describe everything,
you simply have to get into the car and drive, drive and drive…
To the cave with its unusual passages and grottos. To the top
of the mountain which make you feel like flying above the picturesque
places. To the river, especially when they let the water out of
the storage pond and you see the way the river becomes full-flowing
in front of your eyes, and in some time it becomes shallow showing
its stony bottom so that you could cross it on foot and many many
other breathtaking things.
Finally there was the way back home. There was a ravishing column
of off-road vehicles on the high way! There were cars coming in
our direction greeting us on the way. There were astonished passers-by
waving their hands. And there were we - The Perm Off-Road Club,
who are not only off-roads and trophy-raids but true adventure
seekers!
Sincerely Yours, Ivan Susanin (searching new routes).
